4 on the 4th road race in New Canaan, Connecticut

July 4th is the 30th annual (Four on the Fourth) Independence Day Race in New Canaan, CT. Great way to start off the day with a 4 mile run along scenic Oenoke Ridge in New Canaan.

Please stop by and say hello as Wee Care Nanny Agency will again be sponsoring post-race refreshments at the finish line and giving out frisbees and beach balls for the children.

5K Road Race and Fireworks Show In Pound Ridge, NY on June 30th


Saturday, June 30th is the 13th annual Independence Day Race in Pound Ridge, NY. It's a great way to start off the holiday weekend with a 5K run through scenic Pound Ridge, NY. This year's race will start and end in the Pound Ridge Town Park. The races for children (toddlers to tweens) start after the adult race or approximately 10AM.

Caring for an aging parent or loved one is a very challenging task. It requires a lot of time, patience and understanding. Most of the time, caregivers become very busy taking care of others that they tend to forget to take care of themselves. This can result in to stress, anxiety, frustration and exhaustion, which may eventually lead to "Caregiver Burnout."

Caregiver Burnout can occur when a caregiver becomes overwhelmed and tired emotionally, physically and mentally. This makes it more difficult for caregivers to continue care and constantly meet the demands of their elderly loved one.

It's Summertime, Make Sure All Children are Using Lots of Sunscreen


Interesting article in the New York Times about teaching children at an early age to take sun exposure seriously. Studies show childhood is the most important time for avoiding sunburns and sun induced harm that can cause skin cancer and deadly melanomas.
